Editorial Standards
Last updated: September 18, 2026
The Associated Guess is an original parody news publication. We write fictional stories in a straight news format for entertainment. Our goal is craft and clarity, not confusion: readers should always be able to tell this is a humor publication operated by a real studio with real contact information.
What we publish
- Original fictional news stories written in deadpan wire-service style.
- Occasional partner announcements clearly labeled in copy when a portfolio brand (games, maker files, events) has a real launch worth pointing readers to.
- Archive and section pages that organize stories by topic for browsing and search.
What we do not publish
- Scraped or copied articles from other outlets.
- AI-generated filler pages with no editorial review.
- Misleading headlines intended to pass as verified breaking news on other platforms.
- Doorway pages, keyword stubs, or empty templates indexed for search.
Labeling and reader trust
Every story page includes a visible note that the piece is fictional. The site header repeats that this is a parody publication. Partner or portfolio pieces that describe real products, events, or URLs are written as editorial announcements, not as anonymous wire copy.
If you arrived here from search or social media: nothing on this site should be treated as factual reporting unless it is explicitly labeled as a partner announcement with verifiable outbound links.
Editorial process
Stories are edited for headline clarity, dateline structure, and at least one on-the-record quote in the body. We remove internal production notes, agent workflow text, and draft placeholders before publication. Thin placeholder drafts are not indexed for search.
